Where did you grow up? Hollister, CA
Tell us about your family. My family has always been really close. I have 2 sisters, 2 nieces, a nephew, quite a few aunts, uncles and cousins and some awesome parents. I have also been fortunate enough to know 2 sets of grandparents and one set of great grandparents.
Share something about yourself that might surprise people. I once shaved my hair into a Mohawk.
Briefly describe your work experience. I have worked with kids for the past 14 years in various forms. I have done tutoring, babysitting, mentoring, substitute teaching and helped run an after school program. For 3 years prior to Summit, I worked in a residential treatment facility in Minnesota.
If you could spend a week anywhere in the world, where would it be?I have always wanted to visit Egypt. I have been fascinated with the ancient Egyptian culture since college and would love to visit all of the pyramids and such.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? I love being outdoors. I enjoy activities like hiking, camping, kayaking, snow shoeing and ice fishing. I also like to hang out and watch movies.
What draws you most to this type of work? Not everyone can or does make significant changes to improve their lives…but when someone does, and you know you were a part of that…that is powerful.
