Where did you grow up? I was born in Columbus, Montana spent most of my childhood in small towns throughout the state. I went to elementary school in Laurel, middle school in Judith Gap, and high school in Deer Lodge. My mother was a free-spirit who enjoyed new adventures. As a result, I have a diverse background filled with many positive memories.
Tell us about your family. My mom, sister and nephew live in Kalispell. I also have a sister with two nieces and two nephews who all live in Colorado.
Share something about yourself that might surprise people. I used to be a varsity cheerleader at Powell County High School in Deer Lodge MT.
Briefly describe your work experience. I began working with children in 2002 in Big Sky, Montana at Lone Mountain Ranch, and have been working with youth ever since then. Prior to Summit Prep, I was a high school English and French teacher in Kalispell and Hot Springs, Montana.
If you could spend a week anywhere in the world, where would it be?Russia, India, or Africa. I love to explore places that are rich in diversity, culture, and natural beauty. I believe each of these places would present incredible opportunities for all that and more!
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Hot yoga and exercise of any kind: running, hiking, swimming. I am also an online student working towards a Masters in Education.
What draws you most to this type of work? Helping others and witnessing the transformation of our nation’s youth from children to young adults by encouraging them to become competent, conscientious and compassionate global citizens.
